The Intermediate Board Karachi was founded as separate entity in 1974 under the provision of the "Sindh Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education amendment act No. 20 of 1973. BIEK has the mandate to organize, regulate, develop and control Intermediate Education in the educational institutions. The Governor of Sindh or his nominee is controlling Authority of the BIE Karachi. The principal executive of the board is Chairman and academic officer, while the Secretary is the in charge of the academic and administrative Sector and the Controller of Examinations. At the time of its existence, Karachi Intermediate Board had only 17 officers and 113 officials which increase to 51 officers and 246 officials. Karachi Board comprising of many Statutory and non-Statutory committees which are bound to perform various functions.
Biek results are prepared under the strict supervision of prominent educationists who are responsible for preparing results transparently and justly and the result is declared in March/April every year.

Karachi board has declared Intermediate part 1 result for academic session 2012-2013 on December 1, 2012. Pre-medical and General Science group students can view their final examination result or part 1 online here. Congratulations to all Intermediate part 1 students, who passed their 11th class exam with good grade.
